my favourite shot of a local Nottingham band, The Recovery, kicking out quite a distinctive sound…I just like this shot as it was taken in a local pub on a community based gig circuit and nicely features some advertising for the band Normally bass guitarists are shy and retiring types, happy to sit in the middle of the stage…this chap ended up in the pub crowd and on top of speakers at least 3 times. Extra long XLR cables especially for him!

another local hero from Nottingham, my adopted home town of many years. A national beat box champ and an amazing entertainer. Here is someone who loves what he does. If you get the chance, his mix of beat boxing, classical mixing and interlaced vocal are something I’ve not seen before.

The lead guitarist from Fight-star…never thought i’d like their gig but very entertaining and this guitarist had at least 50% of the charisma from the front line. Charlie from Busted, their lead singer, was happier to sing his heart out that jump around on stage. Far better than I’d hoped.

Coheed and Cambria, Kerrang Tour, at Rock City.. perhaps one of my first proper large stage gigs. Such fun to shoot. I’ve since learnt to resist the urge to chop off guitar heads…
